Before Nirotia makes it three steps, the surprisingly agile Braxton bars your path. "Your mother would not approve." And then a belated, "M'lady."

Nirotia looks Braxton in the eye. "My mother doesn't approve of much, Braxton. I do what I want when I want. My father made sure that his daughters were the ones who inherited his estate. Not my mother." She moves him aside with a frown.

Braxton did not, in fact, budge. "You reign, yes, but she rules."

One of the Silvershirts stumbles over, "Oy, big man! Fuck ye off, eh? Let a real man show the lass a good time!" His friends were hooting in laughter and cheering support.

Nirotia looked Braxton in the eye and addressed the silvershirt. "Leave us or suffer." She says without looking away from Braxton.

The Silvershirt completely misinterprets Nirotia's words of warning, and instead feels that Braxton is on the backfoot. He steps up and jabs a finger in Braxton's face. "Hear that? Time for you to go!"

His pals, just inebriated enough to think this is good sport, are now beginning to take interest. Most of the rest of the patrons are trying to look without looking, or completely ignore the situation.

As the bell tolls across the room, startled patrons cover their ears. The Silvershirts screams, and turns towards Nirotia. Before he can do more than this, however, Braxton clubs him, dropping him to the floor timbers with a thud.

The Silvershirts at the bar recover from their surprise and surge forward with curses, fists, and anything else to hand.

(Roll Initiative! Map incoming.)

Nirotia smiles at Braxton, "Such troublemakers these ones are."

ROUND 1 - FIGHT

SilverShirt#5 (7 dam) Rushes forward and swings a truncheon at Braxton; clearly in his cups, he swings terribly wide.
SilverShirt#1 On the heals of his comrade, he thrusts with a dagger. Braxton parries, but takes a cut across his forearm (-1hp).
Braxton (1 dam) Braxton ripostes with his own cudgel and his fist, catching the wobbly Silvershirt on the ear (-7hp), but missing the one with the dagger.

Nirotia will scoff at the enemy and thrust her hand out at SS#5 casting Chill Touch and the ghostly hand flies from her outstretched hand and grasps at the man's throat.

Chill Touch:

TUSSLE AT THE TAVERN
ROUND 1 - FIGHT

SilverShirt#5 (Dead) Rushes forward and swings a truncheon at Braxton; clearly in his cups, he swings terribly wide.
SilverShirt#1 On the heals of his comrade, he thrusts with a dagger. Braxton parries, but takes a cut across his forearm (-2hp).
Braxton (4 dam) Braxton ripostes with his own cudgel and his fist, catching the wobbly Silvershirt on the ear (-7hp), but missing the one with the dagger.
Nirotia (13/18) Casting Chill Touch, a ghostly hand reach out and crushes the man's windpipe, he jerks and flails, gasping as he dies.
SilverShirt#4 (Dead) Rushes forward and attacks Grim/Reaper, stabbing with a shortsword for 2 damage.
Grim/Reaper (37/39) Growling, both heads bite back. Both connect. Both rip limbs from the poor idiot. He screams as he bleeds out.
SilverShirt#2 Seeing his friends dying, he climbs up on a table and heaves bottles at Nirotia. One thick wine bottle careens against Nirotia's temple for 5 damage!
SilverShirt#3 Rushing up to Braxton, he lashes out with scimitar and dagger, but missing. He then shouts encouragement to his ally, who stabs at Braxton again, who connects for 2 more.

SilverShirt#1 (10 damage) Stabs again! Braxton takes 5 damage.

Nirotia will Toll the Dead on Silvershirt 1. She will then yell to the other two. "Your companions have attacked the Duchess of Untinvale. You will die as well if you do not surrender. Upon your surrender, the guards will take you to the prison." She wipes the blood from her wound and tastes it and smiles a dreadful twisted smile.

Braxton (9 dam) Tired of being stabbed, Braxton swings at the daggerman. Missing with his fist, his cudgel cracks loudly against his assailants skulls for 10 damage. Though he staggers, he remains on his feet. Barely.
Nirotia (13/18) Casts Toll the Dead on the teetering Silvershirt. The bell sounds, but he doesn't seem to hear it. He squints and spits blood in Nirotia's direction. Her threats to his compatriots fall on deaf ears.

Grim/Reaper (37/39) Rushes the table to attack the Silvershirt perched above. The patrons whom hadn't already scattered now reeled from the DeathDog's approach. The Silvershirt tries to flee, but is instead torn to ribbons. Now patrons are flooding towards the door.
SilverShirt#2 Dead.
SilverShirt#3 Reading the writing on the wall - and the table, and the floor - he evades Braxton and shoves his compatriot in the process, then disappears into the fleeing crowd.

Combat over.

Nirotia goes to Grim and Reaper and pats their back. "Good boys." She looks to Braxton. "See what happens when you get involved where you shouldn't." She says coldly. "Who owns this establishment?" She says to no one in particular as she dabs the wound on her head.
